With World Cup in Brazil, Risk of Spreading a Virus

Uutinen kertoo riskistä denguekuumeen leviämisestä eripuolille turistien mukana. Brasiliassa kärsitään maailman suurimmasta denguekuumeepidemiasta ja kesällä maassa järjestetään jalkapallon MM-kisat, jotka tuovat maahan miljoonia turisteja. Denguekuume leviää kuumetta aiheuttavaa virusta kantavien hyttysten puraisusta. Australialainen tutkija uskoo kuitenkin , että todennäköisesti vain harva turisti tulee kärsimään taudista, tuskin ainutkaan.

I think it´s of course a bad thing that there is in Brazil right now the worst epidemic of dengue fever in the world. And soccer´s world cup tournament is a huge event and even is there is a small risk of getting the dengue fever, I´m sure it´s not okay for the fans that world cup tournament is in place where you can get killed by mosquito. But I think it´s good that scientists from different countries have researched places and cities where risk of getting the dengue fever is highest and lowest. But after all I think and hope the world cup tournament goes well none suffers from dengue fever.

McDonald's rolls out yogurt option in Happy Meals

Uutinen kertoo McDonaldsin uudesta ruoka vaihtoehdosta Happy meal-aterioihin. Alkaen 4. päivä heinäkuuta annoksiin saa vaihtoehtona valittua jogurttia. Tarkoituksena on tehdä aterioista entistä terveellisempiä ja tuoda aterioihin uudenlaisia vaihtoehtoja. Uutisessa ravintoasiantuntija Margo Wootan sanoo olevansa tyytyväinen uuteen terveellisempään vaihtoehtoon aterioihin, mutta toivoisi että ateriat olisivat paljon terveelliesempiä ja sisältävän enemmän vihanneksia yms.  Jogurttia testattiin osana McDonaldsin aterioita jo yli vuosikymmen sitten, mutta silloin ne eivät myyneet. McDonalds aikoo myös aloittaa esittelemään lapsille erilaisia terveellisiä vaihtoehtoja syödä esimerkiksi vihanneksia ja hedelmiä.

McDonald´s food and almost every fast-food companies food is so unhealthy that I think it´s more than welcome that they are starting to make more healthy foods. But I think speaks about unhealthy fast-food is overrated because I think it´s not a big problem that fast-food isn´t healthy, problem is that people eat much too often in places like McDonalds. But after all I think it´s good thing that fast-food companies do care about their customers health and make plans of making their food more healthy

A new hearing test available over the phone is free for month of May

Tiedemiehet ovat keksineet kuulotestin, jonka voi tehdä puhelimella. Testi on kaiken lisäksi helppo tehdä, kestää noin kymmenen minuuttia ja se toimii hyvin. Toukokuun ajan testin voi tehdä ilmaiseksi ja se kehitettiin  sen takia, että ihmiset havaitsisivat varhaisessa vaiheessa jos kuulo olisi heikentynyt ja voisivat vielä yrittää parantaa sitä.

I think it´s clever idea that people can do hearing test quickly anywhere. That´s very useful and it might be easier to do quick test in phone in comparison with going to see a doctor. I think more people will do hearing test and also more often, which give people a better change to see when their hearing goes worse. Specially in USA where health systems are not so good like in Finland and americans have to pay much more from doctors and thinks like that.

Apple, Google settle litigation over smartphone technology

Uutinen kertoo Applen ja Googlen android-käyttöjärjestelmä pohjaisten puhelimien välisistä patentti kiistoista ja oikeudenkäynneistä. Älypuhelin valmistajat haastavat toisiaan oikeuteen patenttirikkeitten takia turvatakseen oman puhelimensa menestyksen, kuten Apple ja Motorola, joiden oikeudenkäynti saatin vihdoin päätökseen neljän vuoden jälkeen.  Google ja Apple ovat sopineet tehdä yhteistyötä pantenttejen muokkauksissa.

I think it´s good thing that smartphone companies are strict with their patents so other companies cannot copy their ideas. That make other companies to try build their own way their smartphones. But I think that smartphone companies should´t be too strict with their patents in some situations and not send lawsuit and ask many billion dollars.
